Feeling the feelings

Feelings can be A Lot, but they’re better than not feeling anything at all. From my own personal experience and therapeutic observations, I’ve come to the conclusion that trying to avoid feelings of immense sadness and pain also ends up with you shutting out feelings that you want to experience: joy, awe, excitement, curiosity. In order to feel the full range of emotions, you have to be willing to feel the prickly or difficult ones too. That brings me to this reminder that our feelings are what make us human.
